About Mt. Konocti Winery
Mt. Konocti Winery traces back to 1926, when Kelseyville-area pear growers organized as the Lake County Fruit Exchange. The cooperative was renamed Mt. Konocti Growers in 1976 and began offering wine services in 2004, and in 2007 three longtime local families — the Carpenters, Gyaldoses, and Oldhams — launched the Mt. Konocti Winery label under the co-op's roof. The winery sits at 2550 Big Valley Road in Kelseyville, in the Big Valley District (part of the Clear Lake AVA), at the foot of the extinct volcano for which it is named.
Beyond its own label, the operation still functions as a working custom-crush facility, offering winemaking, barrel storage, case storage, and vineyard management to other Lake County growers alongside its own bottlings. Visitors can taste in a small, personal tasting room or book time in the winery's 58-degree Barrel Room Event Center for private gatherings.
