About Frazier Winery
Frazier Winery is the English-heritage family estate of Bill and Leslie Frazier — their surname on a Napa Valley wine program with an unusual varietal focus: Merlot. While Napa Valley's national reputation rests on Cabernet Sauvignon, Frazier has built its identity around Merlot, the Right Bank Bordeaux variety that the Fraziers believe produces wines of unusual complexity and approachability in Napa's finest vineyard sites.
The estate's dedication to Merlot as a primary variety rather than a blending component is a philosophical statement: Frazier's Merlot deserves to stand alone, to be judged on its own merits, to demonstrate what Napa Valley Merlot can achieve without the structural support of Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine Spectator has scored Frazier's Napa Valley Merlot at 90–94 points.
