About Furthermore Wines

Furthermore Wines is a Pinot Noir specialist built around a simple, long-running idea: to study how the grape expresses itself across California's coastal-influenced regions. Co-founders Chad Richard and Bob Zeches, who discovered their shared love of Pinot in the 1990s and later made their money in tech, launched Furthermore in 2006 as an urban winery in San Francisco, then moved to Sonoma County in 2015 when they bought the Graton Ridge property just north of Sebastopol and planted an estate vineyard there.

The result is a lineup of around a dozen single-vineyard Pinot Noirs, a virtual road trip from the Sonoma Coast, Green Valley and Russian River up and down the state to the Petaluma Gap, Santa Lucia Highlands and Sta. Rita Hills, alongside Chardonnay, Riesling and a rose. Production stays modest at roughly 4,000 cases, and the wines have earned Best of Class honors.

The tasting room, at the corner of Gravenstein Highway and Vine Hill Road, is a laid-back westside-Sonoma affair: a garden and courtyard shaded by a giant sequoia, bocce, picnic grounds and, on many Sundays, free live jazz. Dogs are welcome.
