About GrapeHeart Vineyards

GrapeHeart Vineyards is Suisun Valley's most literally named winery: founder Ramzi Deeik is a heart surgeon who helped design Solano County's first cardiovascular surgery center, and with his wife Isabel he channeled that vocation into a 40-acre estate at the base of the Mt. George Range's southwestern slope. The couple released their first wines from the 2010 vintage, and every blend since has carried a heart-themed name, with releases like The Beat and The Thrill.

Production stays deliberately small at roughly 800 cases a year, all single-vineyard fruit from the estate, with Swiss-born winemaker Jean Hoefliger shaping Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay and structured red blends aged in French oak. The vineyard is hand pruned, night harvested and hand sorted, and the family points out that their side of the hill shares Napa's soils and climate influence without the crowds.

The heart theme runs deeper than branding: GrapeHeart donates a portion of proceeds to women's heart-health causes, including partnerships with the American Heart Association and the Sister to Sister Foundation. There is no public tasting room, so the wines are found through the winery's online store, its wine club, and area restaurants; travelers should not navigate to the vineyard expecting a tasting.

A heart surgeon's 40-acre single-vineyard estate whose small-lot, heart-named wines fund women's heart-health causes.
