About Gust Wines
Gust Wines is a Petaluma Gap label in Sonoma County, launched in 2017 by second-generation Cline sisters Megan and Hilary Cline of Sonoma's Cline Family Cellars. The project was created to focus on the cool-climate Petaluma Gap, the first American wine appellation defined by wind, which their father Fred Cline had planted in the late 1990s before the area gained renown.
The name Gust captures the district's signature pattern, where morning fog burns off to blustery afternoon winds funneling down the Petaluma River. Farming west-facing vineyards on the eastern edge of the Gap near Sonoma Mountain, Gust makes finesse-driven, cool-climate wines, principally Pinot Noir and Chardonnay along with Syrah and Rose of Pinot Noir, that have earned strong critical scores.
Gust is primarily a small, allocation-driven label, with wines available through its list, wine club and the Cline family, and a tasting presence tied to the family's Petaluma Gap operations. Because a standalone cellar door may be limited or by appointment, it is best to confirm current tasting options directly before visiting.
