About Halter Ranch Vineyard
Halter Ranch Vineyard at 8910 Adelaida Road is one of the Paso Robles Westside's most expansive and visually striking estates, comprising 2,400 acres on the Adelaida Road corridor where ancient oaks, seasonal creeks, and restored 19th-century farm buildings create a wine country landscape of genuine historical character and scenic drama. Founded in 2000, the estate farms approximately 280 acres of vineyard on calcareous limestone hillsides and valley floors across multiple growing elevations.
The diversity of terrain allows Halter Ranch to produce a remarkably broad range of wine styles. Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Roussanne are the primary varieties, with calcareous Westside soils and Pacific marine cooling providing the mineral backbone and natural acidity that distinguish Adelaida District wines. The flagship Ancestor Red, a Bordeaux-Rhône blend, consistently earns critical recognition that represents the best argument for Halter Ranch's unique multi-variety terroir.
Walk-ins are welcome daily from 11am to 5pm with a $25 starting fee. The estate grounds, with ancient oaks, restored farmhouse architecture, and creek-fed landscape, create one of the most scenically memorable visitor experiences in the Paso Robles wine region.
"Halter Ranch is the Adelaida District at its most expansive, a 2,400-acre estate where serious Rhône and Bordeaux wines meet one of Paso Robles' most beautiful ranching landscapes."
