About Hartford Family Winery
Hartford Family Winery sits on a secluded estate surrounded by towering redwood trees at the edge of Forestville — just 15 miles from the cool Pacific Ocean. Founded in 1994 by Don and Jennifer Hartford (Jennifer is daughter of Jess Jackson of Kendall-Jackson), the winery produces up to 25 different single-vineyard bottlings of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and old-vine Zinfandel.
The guiding philosophy is 'character through adversity' — the belief that small, stressed vineyards in difficult, cool locations produce wines of greater complexity and personality than easier farming allows. Hartford sources fruit from some of the most demanding sites in the Russian River Valley, Green Valley, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley, and beyond — each bottling labeled distinctly as Hartford (for Zinfandel) or Hartford Court (for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay).
The Forestville estate experience is intimate and genuinely special — seated tastings in a setting that feels remote and personal, with a winery team that knows each vineyard as an individual story rather than a data point. Children are welcome, walk-ins are accommodated when space is available.
At its Green Valley, Sonoma County location, Hartford Family Winery presents a featured lineup that includes Arrendell Vineyard Pinot Noir, Stone Côte Pinot Noir, Far Coast Pinot Noir, and Hartford Old Vine Zinfandel. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.

Arrendell Vineyard Pinot Noir
One of Hartford's most acclaimed single-vineyard bottlings — from an old vine site in Green Valley. Deep, structured, and one of the finest Pinots they produce.

Pinot Noir
Stone Côte Pinot Noir
Estate grown at the edge of the redwoods — showing the cool, precise character that defines the Forestville microclimate.
★★★★☆
Pinot Noir
Far Coast Pinot Noir
From a windswept Sonoma Coast hillside — leaner, more saline, and showing the coastal character that contrasts beautifully with the estate RRV wines.
★★★★★
Zinfandel
Hartford Old Vine Zinfandel
The estate Zinfandel — showing the depth and concentration that only old vines can produce. Spicy, concentrated, and built with the Hartford 'character through adversity' philosophy.
