About Hawley Winery
Hawley Winery is Healdsburg's most artistically distinctive downtown tasting room. John Hawley — who spent many years as head winemaker at Coppola and other notable Sonoma County estates before establishing his own label — and wife Carole have built a tasting room experience that combines small-lot Dry Creek Valley wine with genuine fine art in a way that feels entirely natural rather than contrived.
Son Austin Hawley's chandeliers and furniture crafted from wine staves fill the tasting room with genuine wine-country artisanship. Daughter-in-law Dana Hawley's bold oil paintings of Sonoma County landscapes hang throughout the space, providing the visual backdrop for a tasting experience that Sonoma County Tourism specifically highlights for its unique combination of wine and art.
The wine program focuses on John Hawley's winemaking expertise applied to Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, Viognier, and Bordeaux varieties — small-lot, quality-focused, and showing the accumulated knowledge of a winemaker who spent decades learning the specific character of Sonoma County vineyard sites before applying that knowledge to his own estate program. The North Street downtown Healdsburg location makes Hawley an easy addition to any Healdsburg Plaza walking circuit.
