Heritage Oak Winery honors the valley oak — the Quercus lobata, the majestic California native deciduous oak whose canopy once shaded the Lodi Delta landscape before agricultural cultivation. The heritage oaks that remain on the North Highway 88 estate are living connections to the original landscape: trees old enough to have been present before the first vineyards were planted, their heritage declared in the winery's name as a commitment to preserving that connection. The estate produces old-vine Zinfandel, Tempranillo, and Primitivo from Lodi AVA estate vineyard blocks where heritage oak trees frame the vineyard rows.
