About Hosmer Winery
Hosmer Winery is a fourth-generation family farm on the west shore of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes, and one of the oldest grape-growing estates on the lake. With plantings dating back to the 1970s and early vinifera experiments, Cameron and Maren Hosmer established the estate winery in 1985 on the principle that great wine starts in the vineyard.
The winery farms roughly 70 acres of estate vines and bottles only what it grows, a portfolio built on Riesling, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Franc alongside the French-American hybrids that were the lifeblood of early Finger Lakes viticulture. Hosmer's Rieslings and Cabernet Franc have helped set the regional benchmark for those varieties and consistently earn competition honors.
A leader in sustainable, environmentally friendly production, Hosmer is now managed by the next generation, Tim and Brooke Hosmer, with winemaker Julia Hoyle. The relaxed lakeside tasting room, set among the vineyards, welcomes visitors seven days a week for estate-grown wines in a casual, unpretentious setting.
