About Hug Cellars
Hug Cellars is named for the hug — the warmth and physical embrace that wine at its best replicates: the sense of being welcomed, enveloped, made comfortable in someone's presence. The Paso Robles estate declares that winemaking philosophy in its most economical form: one word, everything it means.
The Vineyard Drive estate in the El Pomar District produces Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel from calcareous limestone estate vineyards with the warm, welcoming philosophy the name announces. Walk-in daily, dog-friendly, picnic-equipped, family-hospitable — the hug applied to wine hospitality.
The El Pomar District's calcareous soils produce wines with the generous, enveloping character that the Hug name promises: full-fruited, warmly textured Paso Robles Rhône and Bordeaux varieties at prices that make returning every season feel like coming home to a familiar embrace.
