About J. Christopher Wines

J. Christopher Wines is a Chehalem Mountains estate founded by Jay Somers in partnership with famed German winemaker Ernst Loosen of Dr. Loosen, blending Old World sensibility with Willamette Valley fruit. The winery is known for sophisticated, savory Pinot Noirs along with excellent Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The house is winemaker Jay Somers's project, developed in partnership with Ernst Loosen of Germany's famed Dr. Loosen estate, a transatlantic alliance that shaped its European-inflected, whole-cluster style.

The hilltop patio and tasting room offer a sweeping 360-degree lesson in Chehalem Mountains geography, reached by a dirt road that keeps the crowds thin. It is a connoisseur's stop where the trans-Atlantic pedigree shows clearly in the glass.
