About JCR Vineyard & Winery
JCR Vineyard & Winery comes from a vineyard most people drive past without knowing it is there: a 2008 planting in a secluded canyon off Jalama Road, on the chalky diatomaceous soils that give the Sta. Rita Hills its reputation for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The pedigree is serious for a project this small. The vineyard was planted with Jeff Newton and Mark Cargasacchi, early vintages were made by Chad Melville, and the wines are made today by Alison Thomson.
Tastings are by appointment in the Lompoc Wine Ghetto rather than at the vineyard, so book ahead and confirm the current fee and hours before you drive out.
