About Karly Wines
Karly Wines is named for Karly Cobb — the co-founder's first name placed directly on the label, making Karly one of the few Amador County wineries named for a specific woman's given name. Buck and Karly Cobb's Bell Road estate has been producing Zinfandel, Mourvèdre, Fumé Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc since 1980, placing them among Amador County's founding generation of modern wine producers.
The estate is particularly known for old-vine Zinfandel from Amador County heritage blocks and for Mourvèdre — the Rhône variety that the Cobbs championed in the Sierra Foothills before it became fashionable. Karly's given-name labeling carries forty-plus years of character and accumulated site knowledge: if the wine carries Karly's name, it carries her standards.
