Kelsey See Canyon is a delightfully casual, family-owned winery tucked among apple orchards in coastal See Canyon, just minutes from Avila Beach and near San Luis Obispo. Set beside a babbling creek and shaded by oaks, it makes a wide, approachable range: estate wines like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel, plus its own hard ciders and the signature Apple Chardonnay, a blend of Chardonnay grapes and See Canyon apples.
The real showstopper, though, is the roughly one hundred peacocks that roam the property, happy to eat right out of your hand. Tastings are relaxed and first-come, in a creekside picnic area that is both kid- and dog-friendly. Unpretentious, scenic, and fun, it is a favorite easygoing stop on the San Luis Obispo coast.
