About LaRue Wines
LaRue Wines is Katy Wilson's personal Pinot Noir and Chardonnay project — her French-heritage family surname placed on wines from Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley vineyard sites she has developed relationships with across her winemaking career. The LaRue name carries French wine heritage (rue being the French word for 'street,' and LaRue being a common French topographic surname) applied to California's most demanding maritime wine regions.
Katy Wilson's winemaking background includes experience at some of the Sonoma Coast's most respected producers, and LaRue represents her most personal statement: wines made with the focused attention that putting one's own name on a label demands. The Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley sites she works with are selected for their maritime influence, natural acidity, and site-specific character.
Wine Advocate has scored LaRue's Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at 91–95 points, recognizing Katy Wilson's exceptional site selection and her restrained, site-expressive winemaking approach.
