About Limerick Lane Cellars
Limerick Lane Cellars is the anchor estate of one of the Russian River Valley's most historically significant wine roads. The Limerick Lane corridor, running parallel to the RRV's main Westside Road wine circuit, is home to some of Sonoma County's oldest continuously farmed Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Syrah plantings, most dating to the early 20th century when Italian immigrant farmers established the agricultural heritage that still defines the road's character.
The Limerick Lane Cellars estate includes the Thompson Vineyard, a heritage old-vine Zinfandel planting that supplied fruit to Ridge Vineyards for decades and represents one of the most pedigreed Zinfandel sources in the Russian River Valley. The 1910 planting has been continuously farmed since its establishment, with root systems that have spent over a century finding water and nutrients in the RRV's distinctive Goldridge sandy loam soils.
The estate wines, particularly the Thompson Vineyard and estate Zinfandel, regularly earn 90–95 point reviews for their combination of old-vine complexity, cool-climate RRV elegance, and the genuine terroir character of vines that predate the modern California wine industry. Dogs are welcomed, picnic grounds are available, and the walk-in friendly format makes Limerick Lane one of the most accessible genuine heritage estate experiences in the Russian River Valley.
