About Londer Vineyards
Londer Vineyards is one of the Anderson Valley's most warmly regarded and personally devoted small estates. Ofer and Margit Londer — who left professional careers to pursue their passion for cool-climate wine production in one of California's most authentic wine communities — established the Philo estate in 1997 with a commitment to organic and biodynamic farming principles that would produce Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir of genuine Anderson Valley character.
The estate vineyard on Highway 128 is farmed with biodynamic conviction that reflects Ofer and Margit's belief that genuine wine character begins in the soil and the farming — that no amount of cellar manipulation can produce the same depth and authenticity that genuinely healthy, biodynamically farmed estate vines consistently deliver. The Anderson Valley's cool maritime mornings and warm afternoons create ideal growing conditions for the aromatic whites and cool-climate Pinot Noir that define the Londer program.
The daily walk-in tasting with dogs welcomed, families comfortable, and picnic grounds available with valley views creates the most relaxed and personally hospitable experience that the Philo section of Highway 128 offers — a small estate where Ofer or Margit is often present to share the farming and winemaking story directly with visitors.
