About Lucca Winery
Lucca Winery is three generations of Central Valley farming poured into a tasting room on the family farm outside Ripon. Dionisio Lucchesi emigrated from Italy and planted grapes in the Delta town of Oakley; his grandson Mark founded Lucca in 2011, drawing old vine fruit from the family's four hundred plus acres to make Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese and Rhone reds named for the family.
The setting is a real working farm among peach and almond trees, and it is common to be poured by a Lucchesi. Bottles stay refreshingly reasonable for handcrafted, undistributed wine. California's smaller wine pockets reward the detour with personal, uncrowded tastings. Confirm current hours, tasting fees and reservation policies with the winery before you go.
