About Lumen Wines

Lumen Wines began in 2012 when Will Henry crossed paths with Lane Tanner, one of Santa Barbara County's original winemaking pioneers, and the two set out to make cool-climate wines the old-fashioned way: picked early, honest and hands-on, livelier on the palate and lower in alcohol. Tanner led the winemaking until 2023, when she handed the reins to Henry and Vic Rodriguez, who now farm and make the wines together.

The heart of the operation is 17 certified-organic, regeneratively farmed estate acres in the Solomon Hills of the Santa Maria Valley, including the Warner Henry Vineyard, named for Will's late father and among the county's first regenerative-organic plantings. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay lead, with Grenache and Pinot Gris alongside, plus the playful Hey Ginger label, which ferments grapes with fresh ginger instead of sulfites.

Tastings happen at the Lumen Lounge inside Pico, the family's acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant in the 1880 Los Alamos General Store on Bell Street, where Will's wife Kali runs the kitchen. Flights, glasses and full dinners flow together, and guided vineyard tours at the estate can be booked for a deeper dive into the regenerative farming.
