About Madrigal Family Winery
The Madrigal family's Napa Valley story began in the late 1930s, when Jacinto Madrigal emigrated from Mexico and settled in Calistoga. His grandson Chris Madrigal, whose father Jess built one of the valley's vineyard-management companies, founded Madrigal Family Winery with a 500-case Petite Sirah in 1995, and the current estate tasting facility opened in 2007.
The winery farms about 40 acres of estate vineyard on Highway 29 between St. Helena and Calistoga, drawing on the family's broader vineyard-management business, which oversees more than 800 acres across Calistoga and Howell Mountain. Production is small, roughly 6,000 to 10,000 cases a year, with a focus on Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, and tastings are by appointment, often hosted by family members.
