About Marimar Estate Vineyard & Winery

Marimar Estate brings one of the great names in European wine to the Russian River Valley. Marimar Torres — daughter of Miguel Torres, founder of the legendary Spanish Torres wine dynasty — planted her first vines in Sebastopol in 1992, bringing the family's Catalan winemaking philosophy to California's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay appellation.

The estate is certified biodynamic and farms with the same meticulous attention to soil health that the Torres family has practiced in Catalonia for generations. The result is wines of unusual finesse and restraint — European in sensibility, California in terroir — that stand apart from the richer, more overtly fruit-forward style of many RRV neighbors.

The Don Miguel Vineyard estate produces both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of consistently high quality. The beautifully landscaped property — with its Spanish-influenced architecture and mature gardens — creates an atmosphere that genuinely feels like a small estate in Catalonia rather than a California wine country destination. The Expedia/travel listing specifically calls out Marimar Estate as a must-visit when in the Sebastopol area.

At its Sebastopol, Sonoma County location, Marimar Estate Vineyard & Winery presents a featured lineup that includes Don Miguel Vineyard Chardonnay, Don Miguel Vineyard Pinot Noir, Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir, and Acero Chardonnay. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.

Featured Wines

Chardonnay
Don Miguel Vineyard Chardonnay
Biodynamic estate Chardonnay showing the Torres family's European sensibility — restrained, mineral, and built for food. Utterly unlike the typical butter-and-oak California Chardonnay.
★★★★☆
Pinot Noir
Don Miguel Vineyard Pinot Noir
Estate biodynamic Pinot Noir with a distinctly Burgundian soul — elegant, earthy, and showing what restraint produces when great Californian terroir is farmed with European discipline.
★★★★☆
Pinot Noir
Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir
Named for the Catalan for 'farm of horses' — a single-block estate Pinot showing even greater depth and structure than the flagship Don Miguel.
★★★★★
Chardonnay
Acero Chardonnay
Unoaked RRV Chardonnay — the Torres family's answer to the California over-oaked stereotype. Pure fruit, no barrel influence, and showing what RRV Chardonnay tastes like in its most naked form.
★★★★☆
🥂
Estate Tasting with Spanish Tapas
$40
A guided tasting of Marimar's biodynamic estate wines accompanied by Spanish-inspired tapas — a genuinely unique fusion of California terroir and Catalan food culture. By appointment.
