About Maritana Vineyards
Maritana Vineyards is the legacy project of Donald Patz, who spent nearly three decades as a co-founder of the acclaimed Patz & Hall before launching Maritana in 2017. After working with fruit from Mendocino to Monterey over a 40-year career, Patz chose to focus this new label entirely on the region whose wines he loves most: the Russian River Valley, and exclusively on its two signature grapes, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
He draws on longstanding relationships with some of the valley's best growers, Dutton Ranch, Chenoweth, Martinelli and others, to source top sites, then makes the wines with minimal intervention and exacting standards. The result, around 4,000 cases a year, are focused, distinctive wines: Chardonnays balancing richness with fresh acidity and a floral-mineral edge, and aromatic, sleek Pinot Noirs built to age.
Maritana pours from the Grand Cru Custom Crush facility in Windsor, a shared home to more than twenty boutique wineries, where tastings are available by reservation.
