About Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery
Martin Ray Vineyards & Winery carries one of the more storied names in California wine. Martin Ray himself was a pioneering vintner who, from 1943 to 1972, championed single-varietal, region-specific wines in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The modern winery revived his name and, in 2003, made its home in the Russian River Valley on the edge of Green Valley, at a historic Laguna Ridge property whose winemaking roots reach back to 1881, later known as Martini & Prati, with old redwood tanks still standing as testament.
Today the team honors Ray's ideology of wines of place, sourcing terroir-driven fruit from iconic appellations across the Russian River, Napa Valley, the Santa Cruz Mountains and beyond. The broad portfolio spans sparkling wine, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet and more.
Visits to the Laguna Ridge estate are hospitable and unhurried, curated tastings paired with charcuterie, often enjoyed outdoors among the vines under the Sonoma sun, open Thursday through Sunday by reservation.
