About Nelle Winery
Nelle is a Rhone-focused Paso Robles label from winemaker Tyler Russell, who honed his craft at Justin, Zenaida and Calcareous before starting his own small-lot project. Nelle centers on Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre sourced from select Central Coast vineyards across Paso Robles, Edna Valley, Santa Maria Valley and the Gabilan Mountains, made with minimal intervention and natural fermentation.
The wines have drawn strong critical notice, including a 95-point review from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate for the 2019 Central Coast Grenache, praised for its perfumed red fruit and savory, spicy character. Fruit comes from respected sites such as Rolph and Wills Hills vineyards on the westside of Paso Robles plus Coastview Vineyard in Monterey County.
