About Peter William Vineyard
Peter William Vineyard is a small Rogue Valley estate founded in 2013, when retired physician Peter Adesman and his wife, Dr. Robin Miller, planted a vineyard on the hillside below their home outside Medford. The plantings lean toward Rhone varieties and Tempranillo, grapes that thrive in Southern Oregon's warm, dry, elevated climate, and the estate fruit is supplemented with grapes purchased from a handful of select Rogue Valley vineyards.
What sets the winery apart is its collaborative model: rather than a single winemaker, the wines are produced by three, each handling the styles they know best. Eric Weisinger of Ashland makes most of the Chardonnay, Grenache Rose, Tempranillo, and Malbec; Nichole Schulte and Herb Quady of Barrel 42 handle most of the Rhone varieties; and Scott Steingraber crafts small-lot Tempranillos and wine club exclusives. Lots are tiny, from a few hundred cases down to a barrel or two, with most bottles priced around $30.
The approach is earning notice: the winery's 2024 Viognier from Daisy Creek Vineyard took Best of Show White at the 2026 Savor Southern Oregon wine competition. Visits have a personal touch, with private tastings held in a small room overlooking the vines that doubles as Robin's dance studio, the inspiration behind the popular Robin's Red bottling.
