Hudson Valley Wine
America's oldest wine-producing region, where historic estates along the Hudson River produce hybrid and natural wines alongside century-old family operations in stunning river valley settings.
About Hudson Valley Wine
The Hudson Valley is the cradle of American wine. Brotherhood Winery, founded in 1839, still operates in Washingtonville, making it the oldest continuously operating winery in the United States. The valley's wine culture stretches from the Shawangunk Ridge in the south through the Catskill foothills to the north, with vineyards perched on river bluffs and hillsides overlooking the Hudson. A new generation of natural wine producers has joined the valley's traditional estates, creating an eclectic mix of winemaking philosophies. Whitecliff Vineyard, Millbrook Vineyards, and Benmarl Winery are among the most established, while newer operations like Wild Arc Farm and Fjord Vineyards are pushing boundaries with minimal-intervention techniques. The combination of spectacular river scenery, proximity to New York City, and genuine viticultural heritage makes the Hudson Valley one of the most compelling wine destinations on the East Coast.
