Lehigh Valley Wine
Pennsylvania's fastest-growing wine region between Allentown and Easton, producing serious Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay from former mill towns and country farmsteads.
About Lehigh Valley Wine
The Lehigh Valley AVA is Pennsylvania's most dynamic wine district, centered on the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton. The region benefits from a continental climate moderated by the Appalachian ridgeline to the north and the Delaware River to the east, creating growing conditions suitable for both cold-hardy hybrids and European vinifera varieties. Chambourcin is the standout red, producing dark, fruity wines with smoky undertones that have earned national recognition. Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Vidal Blanc also perform well here. The Lehigh Valley wine trail connects over 20 wineries through rolling farmland and historic Moravian communities, making it one of the best-organized wine tourism corridors in the mid-Atlantic.
