The continental climate here is cooler and more varied than southern New Jersey, producing wines with genuine structure and complexity. Cabernet Franc is the standout, with producers like Alba Vineyard, Brook Hollow Winery, and Villa Milagro achieving wines that compete with Long Island and Virginia peers. The Warren Hills wine trail connects a dozen-plus wineries through scenic rural countryside along the Delaware River, making it an excellent day trip from both New York City and Philadelphia.
