About Robert Craig Winery
Robert Craig Winery was founded in 1990 by Bob Craig with three business-school partners, Michael Adams, Derek Ruston, and Michael Nugent. After a 1992 custom-crush debut, the winery released its signature trio of mountain Cabernets in 1993, then purchased 22 acres at the summit of Howell Mountain in 1995 for its estate vineyard. Elton Slone joined as operations director in 2004, became a full partner in 2007, and has led the winery since Bob Craig's retirement in 2012.
The winery is known for small-lot, site-expressive Cabernet Sauvignon from high-elevation, mountain-district vineyards, principally its own Howell Mountain estate, alongside sourced fruit from Mount Veeder, Spring Mountain District, Diamond Mountain District, and Coombsville. Its downtown Napa tasting salon at 1553 2nd Street pours the current mountain-Cabernet lineup.
