About Scott Harvey Wines
Two locations: Scott Harvey Wines pours at two Amador rooms. The Plymouth tasting room sits in the Shenandoah Valley at 10851 Shenandoah Road (daily 11am-5pm), and a second room is on Main Street in Sutter Creek at 79 Main Street (Sun-Mon 11-5, Tue-Thu 12-5, Fri-Sat 11-7); (209) 245-3670.
Scott Harvey is Amador winemaking royalty: trained in Germany's wine country as a young man and a central figure in the region's 1970s-80s revival, he made his name with old-vine Zinfandel, including fruit from the 1869-planted Vineyard 1869, one of America's oldest documented Zinfandel plantings, before a celebrated Napa chapter and a return to the foothills under his own name.
With his wife Jana, Harvey pours Amador Zin, Barbera and German-inflected whites in a Sutter Creek tasting room, wines that braid old-world training with Gold Rush-era vines. Few careers connect the region's past and present so directly.
