About Sea Smoke Cellars
Sea Smoke is the Sta. Rita Hills cult estate whose name describes its terroir: the ocean fog that pours up the Santa Ynez River canyon over its south-facing Pinot Noir slopes. Founded in 1999, the estate farms biodynamically and built a famously allocated mailing list around bottlings like Southing, Ten and the Botella tier, plus a blanc de noirs, Sea Spray.
The wines are lush, dramatic and unmistakably of the estate, all fruit coming from the home vineyard, and the allocation model made scarcity part of the identity. Sta. Rita Hills celebrity, earned on a fog line.
