About Senses Wines
Senses Wines is one of California's most exciting newer cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay boutiques. Founded in 2013 by four friends — Max Thieriot (actor), Myles Lawrence-Briggs, Aaron Feuerstein, and Charlie Chenoweth — Senses set out to produce single-vineyard Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that captured the complete sensory experience of great cool-climate California wine.
The name Senses reflects the founders' belief that the finest Pinot Noir engages all five senses simultaneously — sight, smell, touch, taste, and the ineffable sense of place that the Russian River Valley fog belt creates in ways no other California growing region can replicate. Single-vineyard selections from Bacigalupi, Heintz, and other iconic Russian River sources drive the program.
Wine Advocate has scored Senses Pinot Noir at 92–96 points across multiple vintages, placing this boutique among the most critically recognized newer California cool-climate Pinot Noir programs alongside Peay, Hirsch, and other Sonoma Coast and Russian River luminaries.
