About Skipstone
Skipstone is a breathtaking 200-acre private estate tucked into the western hillsides of the Mayacamas Range, in the mountains above Alexander Valley just north of Healdsburg. Founded by Fahri Diner in 2001, it crafts limited-production, Bordeaux-focused wines from a certified-organic, biodynamically farmed estate vineyard, with the legendary Napa winemaker Philippe Melka consulting since the early vintages.
Production is tiny, around 2,000 cases a year, and centers on an acclaimed estate Cabernet Sauvignon and a Cabernet Franc blend, with a prized Viognier among the whites; the estate also presses its own extra-virgin olive oil, donating 100% of the proceeds to the local volunteer firefighters. Everything about Skipstone aims at perfection and stewardship of the land.
A visit reflects that: private, appointment-only tastings for small groups, roughly ninety minutes long, that pair current releases with a vineyard walk and sweeping hillside views.
