About Sorelle Winery
Sorelle Winery is a Scott family project rooted in a piece of San Joaquin County history. In 2007 the family purchased the historical Dodge Estate along Highway 88 on the Lodi appellation's southern edge - a property the family patriarch had admired since childhood, anchored by the Dodge family home built in 1866 that still stands today. The family replanted the vines that once supported the Dodge family and built a winery on the property rather than selling the fruit, restoring the old home as closely as possible to its original state along the way.
The name Sorelle - Italian for sisters - nods to the two daughters at the heart of the family business, and the lineup follows suit with small lots of Italian varietals: Pinot Grigio, Barbera, Sangiovese, Primitivo, a dry Rose, and a Super Tuscan style blend. The Sparkling Almond is a longtime visitor favorite. For a stretch the family also poured downtown at Wine Social, a shared Lodi wine bar with Six Hands Winery that has since closed - the estate tasting room is the place to find them now.
The tasting room opens Friday through Sunday, 12pm to 5pm, with appointment tastings available Tuesday and Wednesday. The grounds around the 1866 home invite roaming, with plenty of outdoor seating for a slow afternoon in the Stockton countryside - confirm current hours and fees with the winery before visiting.
