About Spenker Family Farm
Spenker Family Farm is a west-side Lodi original, a 60-acre property in the Mokelumne River AVA that the Spenker family has farmed for more than 120 years. Chuck and Bettyann Spenker started Spenker Winery in 1994 to showcase their estate-grown fruit, and their daughters Kate and Sarah later helped launch what became Lodi's first artisan creamery.
The wines are made exclusively from estate-grown, hand-harvested, LODI RULES certified sustainable grapes, with a focus on Zinfandel from head-trained vines, plus Petite Sirah and Muscat of Alexandria. Bettyann is both winemaker and cheesemaker, and the Grade A goat dairy turns out small-batch fresh goat cheeses that pair with the wines.
A visit is a working-farm experience: you can meet the goats, watch cheese being made, and picnic under the trees by the vineyard. There are even goat yoga and goat-cuddle sessions. Because it is a licensed dairy, the farm asks guests not to bring pets, for biosecurity.
