About St. Jorge Winery
St. Jorge Winery brings the flavors of Portugal to Lodi wine country. Owner Vern J. Vierra grew up making wine alongside his father and grandfather, whose roots trace to the Azorean island of Sao Jorge, and he turned that family tradition into a business, opening the winery in 2009.
The focus is Portuguese varietals rarely seen in California: Verdelho, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cao, Souzao, Alvarelhao, and Tempranillo, alongside Lodi favorites like Zinfandel and Alicante Bouschet. St. Jorge is especially proud of its Port program, with one of the largest port selections in the area.
The estate is styled with Mediterranean architecture and set on a beautiful property with indoor and outdoor seating, gardens, and scenic grounds that host weddings and events. It is a welcoming, family-oriented stop, with games for kids and a friendly resident mascot.
