About Stama Winery
Stama Winery blends Greek heritage with Lodi terroir. The Kapiniaris family traces its winemaking back five generations to the village of Koroni in southern Greece, and the label takes its name from the family's ancestral surname, Stamatopoulos. Konstantino, known as Gus, bought his first Lodi vineyard in 1987 and, with his son Foti, has since grown the family's holdings to more than 200 acres.
The winery was established in 2005 and now operates from a 10-acre home property on North Davis Road, where the Mediterranean styling, arched doors, and barrel-tiled roof evoke a village in southern Greece. French-born winemaker Franck Lambert leads a lineup of award winners that includes Old Vine Zinfandel, a Zany Zin, Winemaker's Reserve Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and a dry Rose of Zinfandel.
It is a warm, family-run operation where the owners are often on hand to pour, and the estate is both dog-friendly and family-friendly. Stama also runs a larger custom-crush and storage business behind the old-world tasting-room charm.
