About Stubbs Vineyard

Stubbs Vineyard is a small family ranch and vineyard tucked high on a mountaintop in the hills of West Marin, just over the county line from Petaluma in the wind-cooled Petaluma Gap. Owned by Mary Stubbs, it's a boutique operation surrounded by longhorn cattle and olive trees, where Pacific winds and a persistent marine layer keep the site notably cool, even cooler than the famed Carneros, making it ideal for just two grapes.

Accordingly, Stubbs focuses entirely on estate-grown, cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay made in the Burgundian style, blending Californian generosity with Old-World finesse and remarkable vintage-to-vintage consistency of terroir. The wines, crafted by respected winemaker Dan Goldfield, are made in small quantities and pour at a roster of world-class restaurants; they can be hard to find, sold largely direct and through the winery's club.

A visit is a genuinely off-the-beaten-path experience, a secluded, sustainably farmed ranch reached by a scenic drive, arranged personally with the family.
