About Tamber Bey Vineyards
Barry Waitte founded Tamber Bey in 1999, acquiring a 60-acre Yountville vineyard and an 11-acre Oakville property to grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay, with Thomas Rivers Brown serving as founding winemaker for its first decade. In 2012, Waitte and his wife Jennifer bought a 22-acre equestrian ranch in Calistoga and converted a 15,000-square-foot riding arena into a working winery, moving hospitality there the following year.
The winery and tasting room now share the Sundance Ranch property with the Waittes' Arabian endurance racehorses and other performance horses, letting visitors taste alongside grazing horses in the original barn clubhouse. Winemaker Sally Johnson Blum crafts the estate's single-vineyard wines from Oakville and Yountville fruit alongside grapes sourced from other Napa and Sonoma vineyards.
