About The Blue Stem Wine House

The Blue Stem Wine House brings a residential, community-oriented style of wine hospitality to downtown Cheyenne. Owners Brandon and Virginia Erdmann developed the concept after years of brewing and fermenting and ultimately moved into a 1911 house on Warren Avenue. That setting matters to the visitor experience: instead of feeling like an industrial production room or a generic retail wine bar, Blue Stem is designed around the character of an older Cheyenne home and an intentionally relaxed, social atmosphere. Most important for Wino Notion's classification, Blue Stem is not simply a bar pouring other producers' wine. The business ferments its own wines and cider and holds a current Wyoming winery permit.

Its current wine list has included a notably broad mix of styles and varieties such as Sémillon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Frontenac, white and red Meritage-style blends and a Super Tuscan-style offering. Availability changes as batches sell through, so the page should describe the range rather than promise that every listed wine will be on the menu on a particular visit. Hospitality extends beyond the glass. Blue Stem offers charcuterie and has built its identity around neighborhood gathering, community events and philanthropic involvement. Current first-party hours list Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m., with Monday and Tuesday closed.

Those relatively late hours make the venue useful for travelers who want wine after traditional daytime tasting-room schedules have ended. For Wino Notion, Blue Stem's strongest angle is "Cheyenne wine house" rather than "vineyard." It suits visitors who value conversation, an intimate historic setting and locally made wine in the middle of town. The page can also help users distinguish it from Vintages' appointment-driven custom-blending experience and Wagonhound's downtown wine-bar format. Together, those differences show that Cheyenne now supports multiple styles of winery hospitality. Before publication, the current by-the-glass lineup and any event or group-reservation policies should be rechecked, but the winery's public visitor status and wine-production role are well supported.
