About Trinité Estate
Trinité Estate is a Sonoma outpost of Bordeaux royalty, the California venture of Gonzague and Claire Lurton, fourth-generation Bordeaux winemakers who own classified-growth chateaux in the Medoc. Drawn by the potential of Sonoma's terroir, they arrived in 2012 and planted roots on a hillside in Chalk Hill, near Healdsburg, where volcanic-ash and mixed soils and a cool microclimate between the Russian River and Alexander valleys lend an old-world elegance to Bordeaux varieties.
The estate's name reflects a recurring three: their three Bordeaux grands crus classes, their three children, and the three grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, in their signature red blend, Acaibo, all echoed by the three fish on the label. Farming is organic and thoughtful.
A visit is genuinely singular: an intimate, by-appointment walking tour of the hillside vineyard and winery, ending in the old barn with a seated tasting of their Sonoma wines alongside their Bordeaux Grand Crus, side by side, something you won't find anywhere else in Sonoma.
