About Trump Winery
Trump Winery occupies a 1,300-acre estate in the rolling countryside south of Charlottesville, in the heart of Virginia's presidential corridor near Monticello. The property was developed by John and Patricia Kluge, who built the 45-room Georgian manor Albemarle House on the grounds; Patricia Kluge established Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard here in 1999, and after her financial difficulties the Trump family purchased the property in 2011. The winery is operated by Eric Trump Wine Manufacturing, with Eric Trump as its president.
With more than 240 acres under vine, the estate ranks among the largest vineyards on the East Coast, and the scale supports a broad program: the methode champenoise sparkling wines that made the site famous under Kluge, led by blanc de blancs and blanc de noirs bottlings, alongside Viognier, Chardonnay, a Merlot-based rose, Meritage-style Bordeaux blends aged in French oak, and an ice-style late-harvest Sauvignon Blanc.
Visits center on the Grand Hall tasting room, set on a hill overlooking the vineyards, man-made lakes, and the Blue Ridge Mountains beyond. Seated flights run at typical Virginia tasting-room prices, well below Napa norms, with restaurant-style food pairings, outdoor seating with mountain views, and a wine club with its own private lounge. The estate also hosts weddings and corporate events, and Albemarle House now operates as a hotel on the grounds.
