About Vaughn Duffy Wines
Vaughn Duffy is a first-generation family winery, the labor of love of husband-and-wife Matt Duffy and Sara Vaughn, who left city life in San Francisco to chase a shared love of Pinot Noir in Sonoma. Matt learned winemaking hands-on, working harvests and running a crush facility, and in 2009 the couple launched their own label with just two barrels of wine and a forklift.
More than fifteen vintages later, Vaughn Duffy specializes in limited-production, single-vineyard Pinot Noir, eight to ten bottlings a year from prized sites across the Russian River Valley, Petaluma Gap and Sonoma Coast (Bacigalupi, Sangiacomo and more), alongside Chardonnay, a Sauvignon Blanc from 40-year-old vines and an award-winning Rose of Pinot. The wines punch well above their price and rack up serious scores, from mid-90s Pinots to Best-of-Class and Double-Gold honors.
The tasting room sits in Kenwood in Sonoma Valley, where a visit is warm and personal, often with a chance to chat with the winemaker.
