About Wilson Winery

Wilson Winery is one of Dry Creek Valley's most consistently recommended and genuinely welcoming mid-size producers. Founded in 1993 by Ken and Diane Wilson, who have farmed biodynamically since the early years, the winery produces Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Sirah from their estate and sourced Dry Creek Valley vineyards with a philosophy of honest farming and honest pricing.

Ken Wilson's background as a scientist informs the meticulous biodynamic farming approach, cover crops, compost, predator insects, and the whole biodynamic ecosystem managed with the rigor of someone who takes soil science seriously. The results are wines that consistently over-deliver at their price point.

Expedia and travel platforms specifically list Wilson Winery among the notable tasting destinations in the Healdsburg area, alongside better-known neighbors. The Dry Creek Road setting with valley views, picnic grounds, and dog-friendly policy makes Wilson one of the most reliably pleasant afternoon stops in the corridor.

Wilson Winery presents a featured lineup that includes Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Grenache. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.

"Ken and Diane Wilson's Dry Creek Valley institution, biodynamic old-vine Zinfandel, welcoming hospitality, and one of the most consistently excellent"

What Wino Notion Liked
Based on Wino Notion’s on-site visit, Dry Creek Valley
Great Scenic ViewsWilson sits on a beautiful Dry Creek Valley estate with sweeping vineyard views, a genuine showpiece setting, not just a marketing claim.
Social VibeBuzzing, social atmosphere, a spot where people actually mingle and the energy stays up. Good for groups and meeting other wine travelers, not a hushed library room.
Casual but PolishedRelaxed and welcoming, but the grounds and tasting room are polished enough to wear heels or dress up without feeling out of place. Genuinely flexible on dress code.
Award-Decorated WinesThe Zinfandel program is a regular Gold · Double Gold · Best of Class medalist (San Francisco Chronicle, North Coast Wine Challenge, Sonoma County Harvest Fair, Texas International).
Vineyard-Designate DepthThe Signature Tasting walks through five vineyard-designate wines for \$25, strong tasting-fee value given the medal record. The full program runs 50+ bottlings.
Dog & Family FriendlyWelcoming to dogs and families, not a curated-only adults-only environment.
No Food, But BYOF WelcomeWilson doesn’t serve food, but you’re welcome to bring your own. Pack a picnic and enjoy it with those scenic vineyard views.
A social, scenic Dry Creek Valley destination with serious Zinfandel chops, casual enough for a quick stop, polished enough to dress up. Great for groups.

Wino Notion Tip, Dress As You Like
Unlike many Dry Creek Valley estates with gravel paths, Wilson’s grounds and tasting room work for both casual and dressed-up looks. Heels are fine, the surfaces are even and the vibe is social enough to lean either way.
