Akash Winery takes its name from the Sanskrit ākāśa — sky, space, atmosphere, the fifth element of classical Indian philosophy that pervades and contains all things. The ākāśa is the medium through which sound travels, the space in which all phenomena arise and dissolve. Applied to wine, the sky-space philosophy declares wine as a container of experience — the glass that holds not just liquid but the atmosphere of the vineyard, the sky that the vines grew under, the air that carried the harvest's aromas. The La Serena Way estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from Temecula Valley estate vineyard blocks with the Sanskrit sky-space philosophy the naming implies.
