About Alpen Cellars

Alpen Cellars is named for the Alps — the German/Austrian/Swiss Alpen, the plural form of the mountain range that dominates the European landscape and gives its name to alpine viticulture traditions across Switzerland, Austria, and Northern Italy. Applied to Paso Robles, the Alpen philosophy declares the Adelaida District's calcareous limestone hills as a California alpine zone: elevated, cool at night, mineral in character, the mountain's philosophy applied to the Central Coast.

The Adelaida District boutique produces Grenache and Syrah from calcareous limestone west-side Paso Robles vineyard sources with the German/Austrian alpine philosophy the mountain naming implies.
