About Altisima Winery
Altisima Winery celebrates the history and heritage of one of California's oldest wine regions through the lens of Spanish culture and tradition. Named in homage to Gaspar de Portola, the Spanish explorer whose 18th-century expedition through Las Californias opened the region to European settlement, the winery is discovering new and innovative ways to bring the flavors of Spain to modern Temecula. The estate sits on the De Portola Wine Trail and features striking contemporary architecture, panoramic vineyard views from every direction, open-air decks and lounges, and a world-class restaurant and tasting room that together make it one of the most visually impressive properties in the valley.
The wine program focuses on Spanish and Mediterranean varietals including Tempranillo, Grenache, Monastrell, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Petit Verdot, all cultivated across estate vineyards. Gaspar's Restaurant anchors the culinary side of the experience with Spanish-influenced cuisine served in an elegant indoor dining room and on expansive outdoor terraces with sweeping views. Tastings run $30 for five pours and can be enjoyed inside the polished tasting room or outdoors under the Southern California sun. The winery regularly hosts luxury picnic experiences, seasonal events, Sunday brunches, and live jazz, drawing visitors from San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County looking for something more than a standard wine country afternoon.
