Atticus Wine is named for Atticus — the Roman-Greek name that carries multiple literary resonances: Titus Pomponius Atticus, the scholar friend of Cicero who devoted himself to literature and philosophy rather than politics; and most famously, Atticus Finch, Harper Lee's principled lawyer in To Kill a Mockingbird, whose moral courage became a touchstone of American ethical fiction. The name Atticus declares the estate's alignment with principled integrity: wine made with the uncompromising ethical commitment that both the Roman scholar and the fictional lawyer embodied.
