About Baileyana Winery
Baileyana began with Catharine Niven, who planted vines in her front yard in the early 1970s and grew her project into a serious Edna Valley label within the Niven family's pioneering wine holdings. The family's Firepeak Vineyard, in the coolest reaches of the valley beneath Islay Hill, became the backbone of Baileyana's Burgundian-focused program of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah.
The winery pours in one of the Central Coast's most charming tasting rooms, the restored 1909 Independence Schoolhouse, a one-room schoolhouse surrounded by vines. Baileyana anchors the Niven family collection of labels, and its combination of cool-climate fruit, approachable pricing and historic setting has made it a fixture of the Edna Valley trail.
